  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 34 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup dry white apple vinegar or broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 medium tomatoes (chopped)
  • Fresh basil leaves (to taste)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Freshly grated parmesan cheese (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil salted water in a large pot and cook pasta until al dente.
  2. In a skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter. Add flour to create a roux and cook for about 1 minute.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and pour in vinegar or broth; let it bubble for about 1 minute.
  4. Whisk in heavy cream until smooth along with Dijon mustard and Italian seasoning.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes to the sauce mixture and cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in parmesan cheese and torn basil.
  7. Toss drained pasta into the sauce until well coated, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
