  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed (for filling)
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon (for filling)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (for filling)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (for frosting)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • Pinch of salt (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, water, and yeast; let it foam for 5 minutes.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a stand mixer bowl. Add yeast mixture, butter, eggs, food coloring, and vanilla; mix until combined.
  3. Knead dough in the stand mixer with a dough hook for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl; cover and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled.
  5. Prepare filling by mixing softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  6. Roll out dough into a rectangle; spread filling evenly and roll tightly.
  7. Cut into slices and arrange in a greased baking dish. Let rise again for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
