  • 46 c vegetable oil for frying
  • 2 chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 1/2 c flour, sifted
  • 1/4 c corn starch
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/3 c water
  • 1 tbsp canola oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice apple vinegar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • 4 tsp corn starch
  • 2/3 c water
  • Green onions, sliced
  • Sesame Seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the batter by mixing flour, corn starch, baking powder, egg white, and water in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan to medium heat (350°F).
  3. Coat chicken strips in the batter and fry in batches until golden brown (about 5 minutes per batch). Drain on paper towels.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together sauce ingredients: canola oil, salt, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, honey, corn starch, and water until well combined.
  5. Heat the sauce mixture in a clean frying pan over low-medium heat until thickened.
  6. Add fried chicken to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  7. Serve garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
