  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pulled beef: Place trimmed beef and sliced onion in a slow cooker or Instant Pot. Add ginger beef broth and cook on low for 8 hours or high pressure for 60 minutes until tender. Shred the beef with two forks.
  2. Cook the macaroni: Boil salted water in a large pot, add elbow macaroni, and cook until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Make the cheese sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour to create a roux, cook briefly, then gradually whisk in warmed milk until thickened. Stir in shredded cheddar until melted.
