  • 4 ounces dark chocolate (finely chopped)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs (whisked)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (170°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with aluminum foil and lightly grease it.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter and dark chocolate together in a microwave-safe bowl. Mix until smooth, then stir in granulated sugar.
  3. Add whisked eggs one by one, mixing thoroughly after each addition. In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt; fold into the chocolate mixture.
  4. For the pumpkin layer, mix pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, one egg, vanilla extract, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger powder, and cornstarch until smooth.
  5. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, followed by the pumpkin filling and dollops of remaining brownie batter. Bake for about 50 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
